Brief introduction to electric storage water heater

A storage water heater is a domestic water heating appliance that uses a hot water storage tank to maximize heating capacity and provide instantaneous delivery of hot water.

Most electric water heaters use electric resistance elements to heat the water in the storage tank using two electric resistance elements, which are located at the bottom and top of the storage tank. Each element is controlled by an independent thermostat. In two element tanks the lower element provides recovery from standby losses and the upper element provides heating during periods of large hot water use. Some resistance water heaters contain only a lower element.

 

Common problems we have dealt with are followings :

  • water is leaking from pipe leading to or from the water heater tank.

  • water is leaking out from water heater tank,

  • there is no hot water

  • when water heater switch is switched on, it causes electricity trip out. 

  • the water heater cannot be power up at all. 

  • Low water pressure from shower.

 

There is no fast and easy way to troubleshoot the water heater problems. For most of the problems, we need to make an onsite inspection of the problem before we can identify the faulty part. There are many contributors to the water heater problems. It could be caused by one of the water heater system component itself or pipes or electrical connection. No matter what are the causes, all repair or replacement can be done. In some cases, it is to the home owner advantage to just replace the entire system as the some parts are not economically viable to be repaired.

Is there any warranty ?

All new water heater come with product warranty and workmanship warranty. The product warranty is covered by the brand manufacturer. After the installation, the warranty card will be given to you. The workmanship warranty is covered by us the installer company and is usually up to 180 days. This warranty period will be written on the receipt that you will be given. Also we will indicate clearly the after sales service number you can call if you have any issue with the workmanship.

Instant Electric Water Heater

Instant water heaters are single point system that provide hot water for a single outlet of use.  Instant water heater system only provides hot water for shower only. These high-power water heaters instantly heat water as it flows through the device, and do not retain any water internally except for what is in the heat exchanger coil. The heater is normally turned off, but is equipped with flow sensors which activate it when water travels through them. A negative feedback loop is used to bring water to the target temperature. The water circulates through a copper heat exchanger and is warmed by gas or electrical heating.
